New School Building Launch
Brand Building and Reputation

Developed a flexible visual identity system built on an iconic design detail of the university’s first new building since the 1930s—ample staircases that look out onto Fifth Avenue. Designed invitations, programs, environmental graphics, custom screen-printed wrapping paper, and other merchandise for inaugural events.

New School Building Launch
Brand Building and Reputation

For the launch of the University Center, The New School’s most significant new construction since the 1930s, I developed a flexible visual identity system inspired by an iconic design detail, the building’s dramatic interweaving staircases overlooking Fifth Avenue and 14th Street. This identity system was implemented in invitations, programs, environmental graphics, the university website, social media, custom screen-printed wrapping paper, and branded merchandise for inaugural events.

Translucency in the diagonal bands evokes the University Center’s windows and creates blended colors that suggest an active culture and a vibrant interconnection of ideas. By varying the palette of the overlapping bands, the design could be adapted for different applications.
